Show MANTI STUDENTS FORM UNIT OF TEEN AGERS SAFETY COUNCIL Members of the Manti Chaper Chapter Chap Chap- ter er of the Teen Agers Agel's Safety Council about 50 in number I met on Monday to elect their officers and ta talk k over projects Present with the council members members members mem mem- bers were Mac Isbell school school coordinator for the group Vaun Cox advisor and Marshal Eugene Eugene Eugene Eu Eu- gene Tuttle who congratulated the students in behalf of t the h e elaw law enforcing units of the area Marshal Tuttle told the council members they can do much to prevent death and property damage by promoting safe driving driving ing and said he lie felt sure all law officers will back him upon up upon upon on this Phillip Johnson was elected Captain of the Manti fanU unit with Audrey Hansen and Douglas Lund as L Lieutenants and Marilyn Marilyn Marilyn Mar Mar- ilyn Munk tunk as Sergeant The Sergeant also acts as secretary for the unit To join the Teen Agers Safety Safety Safety Safe Safe- ty Council students sign a pledge pledging themselves to safe courteous driving and to n encourage others to use safe driving practices They are given given given en a membership card and a decal to be used on the rear or side window of the car they commonly drive One of the first projects for the council will be to get members to put the decals on their cars to identify identity them Beginning immediately the council will choose a Driver I of the Week a n teen age driver who has through some driving courtesy earned the recognition of the gr group mp In the meantime they urge everybody to watch for the decal on automobiles as that car will be driven by a teen ager nger pled pledged ed to safe courteous courteous courteous cour cour- driving They also invite everybody to read their Safety Tips which will appear weekly in this paper o 0 |
