Show I I Templar Topics By Karl Keller KeIler Seminary Seminar Student News Saturday April 9 the Church History class went on their annual Seminary tour visiting many places of interest in the State Leaving early Saturday morning they journeyed journeyed journeyed jour jour- to the American Fork Training Training Training Train Train- ing School where a tour of the clinic for the handicapped was made White in Salt Lake City the students accompanied by Mr Ward Magleby made a visit to the Tribune-Telegram Tribune newspaper offices offices of- of ices and printing department to toRadio toRadio toRadio Radio Station and to the State Capitol building Most of the time Saturday night and Sunday Sunday Sunday Sun Sun- day was spent on tours to various churches having ministers of various various var- var ious ous faiths explain their ideas idea on religion The students visited the Christian Science church the Jewish Jewish Jewish Jew Jew- ish Synagogue a Catholic Mass the Salvation Army the Methodist Episcopal African Trinity and the he Tabernacle Choir Broadcast along along a- a long ong with a tour of Temple Square The students topped off their inspirational in inspirational inspirational in- in trip with a trip to the Salt Lake Airport and an inviting dinner at the Temple Square hotel While the Church History students students students stu stu- dents were enjoying their trip the theOld theOld theOld Old and New Testament classes were being entertained at a party given by the Gunnison Seminary Beginning at in the Gunnison High ligh School gymnasium the social gathering featured dancing a program program program pro pro- gram and lunch Student Council Meets Monday the Student Body officers officers officers cers and class officers met to discuss discuss discuss dis dis- dis- dis cuss some activities of the school President Lee Thurston presided while discussions of the school activities activities ac- ac took place 1 Firstly the plans for the annual M Day on May 6 were discussed discussed dis dis- dis- dis cu cussed ed and decisions made concerning concerning concerning con con- who wh should do the painting painting paint- paint ing ng of the beloved M and who should do the cleaning of the 1 1 I school building and grounds And so after quite a bit of dis discussion it t was decided that the boys of the school should paint the M with the carrying the paint up the mountain of course while the girls clean tho the school building and grounds A tug-o- tug war over the city fire hydrant was planned and a Girls Girl's Day dance in the evening to top off the day The honor assembly also will be held on this day The nomination of next years year's officers was made and dates planned planned planned plan plan- ned for school elections Nominees for the four student body offices will be announced at a later date It was also decided that a very nice dance would be held in the high school following the Dance Review production Friday night April 22 This dance was planned to take the place of the expensive carnival which has followed the Dance Review for the past five years n n |
