| Show Too Few See School Play I Fewer than persons not connected with the Manti ManU schools saw Adams Evening as it was presented by the 5 Senior class of Manti High School last week end That 5 means that the play which was presented on both Friday and Saturday evenings averaged less than 70 persons per performance How l is it that Manti doesn't support such activities The school operetta played to very small crowds this year too the Senior class Adams Evening was sponsored by of the high school chool in an an effort to raise funds for a school gift at graduation time It was almost wasted effort however and if the play had required thee the purchasing of costumes and if school students hadn't packed the afternoon performance perform perform- ance on Friday the class would have lost money As it turned out the class m made de a small sum but it was a pitiful amount when one considers the excellent entertainment entertainment en en- the play furnished and the work required by students for their play If the play had made a one-night one stand we might readily see why many folks were unable to attend But this three-act three gem of entertainment was available on two nights and we think few people were so taken up with other activities that they could not have broken away for one of the performances Sit back and think it over folks We dare say that some of the best entertainment you have ever seen on the stage was by local performers And if it happened in inthe inthe inthe the past you must certainly agree that the younger generation generation generation gen gen- can do it just as well today The next time the High School or any other local group goes to a lot of work P to put on an entertainment lets let's be sure we attend and give the sponsoring group a bit of encouragement and a I feeling of accomplishment for the effort put forth To the cast Director Antrei and to anyone who had I anything to do with the production of Adams Evening we extend our congratulations for a splendid job fob The cast did not have a weak character in it and the stage lighting etc were on par pal with the best o oMen o Men of Culture are the true apostles of equality |
