Show AN TELorE CAMP AES enrollees em ollee s mother dies in east boyd aldridge an enrollee from koloa coloa springs mississippi received word on jan that his mother had just died it would have been impossible tor for him to have made the trip home in time for the funeral consequently he decided to stay in camp all members of company were sorry to learn of hia his bereave ment chaplain hawley visits camp chaplain L W hawley visited our camp on the in the afternoon he and dr taylor made a visit to painter springs spike camp and while there the chaplain held a ser vice after which he and dr taylor returned to the main camp and held another service for the boys here much of the service consisted of singing the words and music being flashed on a screen and all members of the company we look forward with interest to chap lain hawley s visits captain inspects camp captain alva G carpenter gave the antelope springs camp a good inspection on the he arrived monday night and on tuesday be gan his inspection the inspection was thorough it Is our desire to keep our camp in such a condition that no fault can be found with it members of camp enjoy dance although our camp Is about 45 miles from any town th this IS does doe a not prevent our having an enjoyable time at a company dance given in camp the crowd was not as large as was expected due to a blizzard which came up shortly before dance time but there were enough girls and townspeople to make it interest ing in all there were about 50 peo pie from town the girls that were present were kept plenty busy as they were in big demand none of them needed to be wall flowers at this dance at intermission a light lunch was served by the kitchen force every thing was conducted in an orderly manner during the dance many of the townspeople present had never visited the camp before |
