Show county agricultural agent to make survey we understand that one of the first undertakings of 0 our new agricultural agent morgan P mckay will be to make an extensive survey of agricultural conditions in millard county this survey will be made by a personal visit by mr air to every community in the county where lie he will meet the farmers and become acquainted with their problems this personal contact will be augmented by a question alre which will be given farmers throughout the county to fill out regarding vital facts relative to the operation of their farms one form of the question alre will be the fa farm rm management survey record which as the name implies Is intended to show just how each individual farmer operates his farm from this the agent can readily determine the manner in which a farmer operates the amount and nature of 0 his land his investment in buildings machinery livestock etc another form provides tor for the compilation of farm income and expense in detail these forms are tor for the sole use of the office of 0 the county agent and although they call tor for some personal information no farmer should hesitate to return them tilled filled out in detail they will be used tor for the enlightenment of our agent who in turn will apply the knowledge ol of our conditions to our future betterment the recent heavy snow enow storm which spread generally throughout the state was particularly welcome in this vicinity where farmers have been suffering severely of recent years because of lack ot of moisture snow has falene in iii fillmore and surrounding country continually tor for over 48 hours prior to thursday evening the total depth death ot of the snow was then hen somewhat over a toot foot on the level we are reminded by the local weather report that the precipitation 1 is no heavier this year than last yet it will be remembered that roost most ot of our moisture this year has come in the form of 0 snow which has steadily accumulated on the snow sheds to supply irrigation water next summer while in recent years we have had a larger portion ot of precipitation fall in the fall all and early winter thus supplying little irrigation water for the coming year we consider the outlook tor for the I 1 coming season very promising from the standpoint of irrigation water farmers are hopeful and business generally seem to indicate that this part of the state will enjoy a greater share of prosperity during the coming year than we have had in the past few years |
