VISITED begian beginning ing the afternoon or of july fourth the utah state press association began an elaborate convention and outing the convention proper took place at panguitch beginning the afternoon of the fifth but do to that city being a two days drive from the northern part of the state the editor of the richfield reaper the richfield commercial club the rich field post of the american legion and pother bother public organizations of that city joined in giving the utah press people an afternoon and even leg ing of hospitality and entertainment to panguitch at the invitation of richfield the printers prin tera from all over the state gathered at that city on the fourth from there to leave in caravan form tor for panguitch next day according to schedule panguitch was reached about noon the and the afternoon was spent in taking in the sights and celebration in the pv evening enin a barbecue and dance were enjoyed the nert day sunday was spent at bryce canyon that evening a return was made to panguitch where the mutual improvement association furnished a very elaborate musical program pro program iram monday morning was spent in regular meet ing and that afternoon those who desired to fish traveled to panguitch lake where some of the best lake trout fishing I 1 in n the state Is to be hau haci sevier agricultural garden carden great the praise and considerable i erable 4 expressed 1 by people of the state who first saw sevier valley the morning of the fourth many of these people were travelers and they f lankly confessed that they had never seen a more fertil well developed irrigated valley for miles and miles they glided over roads unsurpassed between beautiful farms with never a break in cultivated producing land sevier valley is abundantly irrigated ri while the rest of the state is complaining of drought and conserving its ita water supply sevier country gives its crops all the water it will stand tor for best growth and its crops are more luxuriant and thrifty this year than they have been tor for years this section is indeed the garden spot of utah press people guests of richfield As soon as the members of the utah state press association began arriving in richfield the afternoon of 0 the fourth they were vere met by committeemen appointed to welcome and care tor for them all were invited to refresh themselves by a plunge in the municipal pool at 0 clock a very elaborate banquet was served nerved the association and leading citizens of richfield Rich neld in the johnson hotel at this banquet and excellent musical program and some short snappy speech making was enjoyed immediately after the banquet tho the whole party went by motor car to the west side of the city and witnessed a beautiful display of fire works when the fire works were over tho the association members became the guests of the american legion at their grand ball from the time of entering richfield lUch field until late that night in the center tar far before you the hill crowned by an ancient ackop olia to the extreme right the great cathedral with its two impressive bell towers equal in height filling in the picture are the buildings and streets parks and passageways eways of a metropolis polls the bu bull lings illings all of the pastel chaes of mediterranean towns of spain an italy light red pink cloudy white streets and parks parka lined with tile the green of many actual living trees hr fir and pine the architecture la is all in harmony great buildings rising hundreds ot of feet passageways eways sometimes but a few feet wide separating one structure from another but the walls erect and accurate story upon story from acropolis HIU see how the grade drops rapidly to the waterless river bed which Is parked so white upon the dark background back ground set off ill darker markings of the tree areas the city of fancy is asleep at midnight we cautiously approach again the rim and watch while far in the east cast over Arco polls hi a glow enriches the horizon soon silver point comes to view like a star of hope tor for the darkened city rapidly rises the majestic moon that bitens the night and brings out
