Show j Mrs. Sam Hickman was hostess to a few friends Thursday evening. All attended the show, after which dainty ! refreshments were served to Mrs. ! Nelson, Mrs. S. Schow, Mrs. W. H. Elmer, Mrs. J. B. Thiessen, Mrs. F. ' j Farmer, Mrs. Clark Kesler. Jack Thiessen and W. H. Elmer " j spent Sunday and Monday at Fish ' j lake. . I Mrs. Wm. Elmer and Marchetta 1 1 r i were luncheon guests at the home of j Mrs. J. M. Williams, Tuesday. j Irving L. Camp of Johnstown, ; Pa., was today unanimously elected president of the Inter-I Inter-I national Association of Lions Clubs in the convention assemb-; assemb-; led at Miami, Fla. Mr. Camp was born in Water-! Water-! bury, Conn., and has since that ! time lived in New York City, i Long Island, N. Y., and Johns-i Johns-i town, Pa., where he now resides. re-sides. He began his business career as a clerk n his father's retail I coal yard and since then has de-I de-I voted his entire time to either ! the production or distribution of coal. Mr. Camp is president of the Producers Coal & Coke com-j com-j pany of Johnstown, Pa., and is an officer or director of other I coal mining and distributing com- panies. He has also served as director direc-tor of important political, charitable, social, and civic bodies in both his city and state, j The newly elected president of I Lions International is a member of the Methodist Church, Masons, Odd Fellows and Elks. President Camp believes that every man owes society an obligation, which can be paid by service to others and he himself is an example of the busy business man leading in civic affairs. |
