Another son of Mr. Wallis, John Arthur, is editor of the Paris (Idaho) (Ida-ho) Post, a paper published by James H. Wallis, thirty-six years ago, since which time it has been one of the influential papers in that state. Jameis H. Wallis is possibly one of the oldest newspaper publishers with continuous service' in tho inlermoun-tain inlermoun-tain country, having had control of newspapers since he first went to Ida ho in 18S1. He served several terms as preside'iit of the Idaho Editorial assiociation, and was president of the Utah State Press association for li consecutive terms. He has grown up in the newspaper field, having been apprenticed to the publishing business busi-ness in Chester, England, when 13 years of age. Mr. Wallis is on the Salt Lake chamber of commerce committee on the Uinta basin railroad of which j Ross Reason is chairman, and E. O. Howard, Frank B. Cook and B. F. Bauer are members. He also Is a member of the legislative committee of tho same organization. t |
