Show EXCESSIVE BURNING OF OIL Trouble May Ba Remedied by Removing Remov-ing Pistons and Cleaning Away Accumulated Carbon. Excessive burning of oil In cylinders cylin-ders may be remedied by using a different dif-ferent grade of oil, probably a heavier grade, or, if necessary, by removing pistons and rings and cleaning away the carbon that has undoubtedly accumulated ac-cumulated on them. Sometimes the trouble lies In the use of too much oil In the crank case, or In engines that have had many thousands of miles of travel. Worn cylinders, pistons pis-tons and rings would cause this sucking suck-ing of oil Into the combustion chambers. |
