ORPHEUM OPENS 1 TO LARGE CROWD i WAS GOOD SHOW On Friday, January 15, the Milford i people seemed lo feel that it was a ! very eventful day, as the opening up lot the new Orpheum theatre e'aused surprise, admiration and great satis-' satis-' faction. The entrance or lobby is a work of art. The walls are finished in jim. : effect and decorated in blue and .gold. Two white pillars are at the I side s, and large, exquisitely decorat-' od l'ranioc finished in gold, hold the I portraits of the coming celebrities and .scones from their famous and up to date plays. Next as you enter the foyer, with its luxurious blue and gold carpet anil crimson velvet draperies, trim-hoed trim-hoed with gold fringe, you begin to realize that the money, time and abi-Jliiy abi-Jliiy spent on the undertaking is of no small consideration. Mr. Harry Ward surely cames In for his share of the praise for his ! work was truly up-to-the-minute in ' a refined and artistic way. j The stage is, as yet, not complet-j complet-j ed. but will have royal purple satin drop curtains, with a large gold O in j the center. Green lattace work : forms a frame around the entire stage and it is almost as attractive as the stage settings of the wonderful photo plays. Mr. and Mrsi. ltu.shmeier surely know how to give tho puMIc service ;and a pleasant greeting that causes j every one who enters, to feel glad I (hey are living in Milford, that they ! may enjoy this palace of pleasure. Mr. C. C. McDcrmond and Gordon Thornburg are to be highly congratulated congrat-ulated for their efforts and the Milford Mil-ford public will surely appreciate the capital they have' invested here, bowing their confidence and good will in this part of the country.
