Show MILFORD HIGH SCHOOL NEWS OF THE WEEK ' Many people have inquired as to the .success of "O Susan" in Miners-ville Miners-ville and Beaver. Both houses took in satisfactory receipts and as for the respo'nse of the audience, w,e have : never seen any that were more appre j ciative and courteous; and every one : who accompanied the cast assured us as also did the director, that the ! night in Beaver was the best perfor- malice of the three. We were right in our prediction j that the Junior Tigers were out tc I make the high school proud of its I "cub" team; and we take a fond papa's pa-pa's pride and credit in having our prophecies confirmed. The reason for this outburst is that the Juniors won another victohy. The game was held In the Milford gymnasium last Wednes. This game began with a vim. The first quarter Milford was one point ahead. The first half the score was 3 to 2 in Mil-ford's Mil-ford's favor. The beginning of the third quarter Minersville made two baskets. Minersville ahead. Milford perked up and made one more.. The game was even and the third quarter ; ended. Then in the last quarter, both teams had a regular scrap. Tho battle bat-tle was "give and take." and Milford took. The game ended with a score of 10 to 4. Milford the victors. The high school also has. reason for more shouting. When two battles are won in the same day, one has the privilege of celebrating in some way. This is to thank the Ninth grade team and give them a share of the honors. On the same day as the Juniors played, the other team played Beaver's Bea-ver's Ninth grade team in Beaver. Reaver didn't have a chance. Milford was winning in all four quarters and tho final score was 26 to 17. Milford with 9 points ahead. The, league game with Fillmore, was postponed. So the first game of Milford high is to occur in the gymnasium gym-nasium Friday night. January 2 2. The opponents are the Hinckley boys. This team has already won one of the league games against Minersville. So, if the Tigers win, they will he ahead in the league as they were last year. Here's fervently hoping that they come out on top. The only other school activities are excited comparisons, of report cards and crams for examinations. The usual Wednesday program was postponed until Friday. GLADYS COLEMAN A |
