Show U. P. SYSTEMS MAKES RECORD SHIPMENT What is believed to have been record time was made by a shipment of freight from San Francisco to Milford. The shipment consisted of a new linotype for this office and was loaded load-ed on the steamer Yale for her voyage voy-age No. 509, Wednesday, February 10th and left San Francisco at 4 p. m. and arrived in Wilmington, on Thursday morning at 10:40, where it was turned over to the Pacific Electric El-ectric and loaded in Union Pacific car No. 1304GS. The Union Pacific received the shipment from the Pacific Electric at East San Pedro, at 9:20 p. m. and left that point at 11:00 p. m. that night and arrived in Milford at 5:50 p. m. Sunday, February 14, 9 6 hoursand 50 minutes from the time it left San Francisco. This is the quickest freight shipment ship-ment we have ever heard of from San Francisco to Milford, and a word of appreciation to the Union Pacific and its employes, especially to our local agent, Mr J. H. Davis, and Mr. John Thomas, agent at East San Pedro, for the prompt handling of this shipment is due from the Beaver County News. Gentlemen, we thank you. |
