Show ATTEMPT BURlff OF FEDERAL COURT CONFLAGRATION DISCOVERED IN COURTROOMS; LITTLE DAM. AGE DONE Work Believe That of Individual Nursing Grievance Against Judge's Decisions; Federal Agents Investigating Salt Lake City. Fire which threatened threat-ened to destroy the Salt Lake federal building was discovered at 6 :15 o'clock Friday evening in the south courtroom. According to disclosure by federal officials this was the second attempt of the fire bug, the first one having been made Thursday night in the north court room. The fire Friday night was the most serious of the two, the flames having spread rapidly over the bench when discovered. Outside Out-side of the charred benches in the two courtrooms but little damage was done. Agents of the department of justice, jus-tice, the secret service and marshal's office were busy Saturday in attempting at-tempting to run down the IncendiarisL It is believed that the fires were the work of a man harboring a grievance through some decision of the federal judge, who desired to show his contempt con-tempt for the court by kindling them under the judge's bench. Dynamiters Blow Agent's Home Steubenville, Ohio. A dynamite explosion ex-plosion Sunday morning wrecked the front of the home of John C. McCoy, chief of dry officers working out of Mayor Frank McCullough's Richmond court. Sixteen more sticks of dynamite dyna-mite were found under the rear of the home, having failed to expode. |
