Clay, of Burbank, returned last Wednesday from a visit to Salt Lake City. Mrs. W. R. Martin took Mrs. Fred Levi, Mrs. Retta Tanner, Mrs. Mark-sheffel Mark-sheffel and Mrs. Dr. Hunter to Beaver Bea-ver Friday in one of their new Star cars. The Martin garage is offering $50 in cash prizes to the students in the different schools of the county, and also the members of the womens clubs for the most information concerning con-cerning the Star and Durant cars. Mrs. E. D. Young entertained on Monday, with a dinner. Covers were laid for seven. The occasion was her 23rd birthday. The evening was spent playing cards. E. D. Young and Mrs. J. T. Jones won high score. Mrs. N. H. Loonvis of Omaha, nr-rived nr-rived Wednesday, for a short visit with her cousins. Mrs. H. M. Korns and Mrs. C. S. Miller and families. She left Thursday night to visit her sister in Los Angeles. Mrs. Loomis is the wife of the general solicitor for the Union Pacific. On Tuesday night of this week, occurred oc-curred the death of Mrs. Fred Limb. The cause of death was pneumonia. Mrs. James Lang returned from Beaver Thursday morning, where she went for a couple of days' visit with friends. Attorney Sam Cline and Harry Ward made a trip to St. George and Virgin City last Thursday, returning Saturday. Mrs. Mary B. Lewis, who has been in California for the past five months is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Vernon Johnson. Mrs. A. M. Turner, of Oasis, formerly for-merly of Milford, is spending a month visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred G'illins of Las Vegas, Nevada. Ne-vada. Theodore Cook, who owns a ranch south of town, arrived) here this week from Southern California. He will commence immediately to make extensive ex-tensive improvements. Fred Schumacher, of Garrison, is in town today. He reports that they had the heaviest fall of snow out there the past winter that has ever been known. Mrs. Sam Reveal, who has been receiving medical treatment at thft Holy Cross hospital, is reported as much improved and expects to return home Monday. Jo Davis returned to Milford early ear-ly this week, from a' month's journey through the camps of Nevada. Mr. Davis says that Milford and 'its prospects pros-pects looks better than any town he saw on his trip. Mrs. Chas. Sportsman returned from Salt Lake Thursday, where she-attended she-attended the funeral of her grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Stewart Ellison. Her sister, Mrs. Allen Stewart, returned with her from Salt Lake for a visit. Mr. Hern, who is employed on thr railroad and was recently taken to Salt Lake for theatment for a strained strain-ed back, is recovering nicely, nd he and Mrs. Hern expect to return to their home soon. Mrs. W. W. Markham and family, who have been living in Salt Lake for tiie past several months, returned to Milford the first of the week to Join Dr. Mark'ham, who has again resumed re-sumed his dental practice here. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Grimshaw Mr. and Mrs. Ross Lang, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Fernley were among thos from here who attended the Rebekah Annual dance held in Beaver on last Thursday evening. Mrs. Blumberg entertained on Thursday evening in honor of her husband's birthday. The hostess entertained en-tertained her guests with' games and music and a dainty and delicious lunch was served in a very appreciative apprecia-tive wav. Mr. C. H. Valentine is here representing repre-senting the Independent Gas & Oil company, of Salt Lake City. Utah. The above mentioned concern will build a wholesale station in Milford for the distribution of gas and other petroleum products throughout Beaver Bea-ver county. Their plan is a co-operative one which has proved' very successful suc-cessful in thirty or more of the most prominent distributing centers of the state. No capital outside the state of Utah, Idaho and Wyoming, is represented repre-sented in this company, which now numbers over 4.000 stockholders, who are receiving 1 2 per cent per annum on their investments. |
