Show LOCALS and PERSONALS Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Taylor and i family attended quarterly conference at Beaver, Saturday and Sunday. Ernest Hodges, State Mining Inspector, In-spector, who had been to the Iron mines at Cedar City, spent Monday noon here on his way to the iron and silver mines. I Tom Davis of Beaver, underwent an operation for a growth on the side of his face, at the Milford hospital the first of the week. He was the guest of his brother-in-law, Mr. Wm. Miller and family while here. He is getting along nicely and left for his home Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Frank Lyman returned from a weeks' visit at Parowan Friday of ! last week. She was accompanied by her neice, Miss Beth Lyman, who ! will be her guest until Sunday. Dr. Henry Hunter returned Monday morning from Spokane, Washington, where he visited his sister and family. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Langhn of Seattle, Washington, and Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Manderfield of Salt Lake City, were recent house guests at the Walter James home at Black Rock on their return from visiting Bryco Canyon. Zion Park and Grand Canyon. Mrs. ('has. Mrs. Ernia Gillies entertained Saturday morning at a delightful 8 o'clock breakfast. The guests were Mrs. Edyth Farnow, Geo. Jefferson, and Harold Cline. Mrs. Erma Gillie's children, Marie and Dan, spent the last week in Beaver. Mrs. Wm. Baker and children spent several days at Beaver this week, visiting her mother, Mrs. Agnes Hutchings and family. J. G. Grainger of Lancaster, Cal., is working for Gordon Jewelry co., and planning on making his home here. Her Christensen has fitted up a Service Shoe Shop next door to the Kelly Tailor Shop and has a fine lot of up-to-date machinery with which to do all kinds of boot and shoe repairing. re-pairing. Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Wilcox will go to Provo Saturday to attend the U. P. Athletic Meet. Miss Judith Barrett of Beaver, spent Sunday night here as the guest of Mrs. Erma Gillies. She left Monday Mon-day morning by stage for Ely, Nev., to visit her mother, Mrs. Effie Ryan. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Bowden and son Kenneth, spent last week in Beaver with Dean's mother, Mrs. Homer Thompson. |
