Show o IT I'SED TO BE "LONG GREEN" "SHORT GREEN" SOON Speak of "long green" and nearly everybody will know that you're talking about money, those one-dol-la and five-dollar bills which Uncle Sam issues as his promise to pay in gold or silver, if you prefer. But it won't be long now until the term "short green" will have to be substituted sub-stituted for the more familiar name, because for the second time since Alexander Hamilton established our currency system a radical change Is to be made in our paper money. Of course, this new money may not be any easier to get than before, but after you got it, it's going to be easier to count and easier to handle. And if you'd like to know why it will be, as well as many other interesting facts about money which you may never have known before, don't miss the illustrated feature article, "'The Shrinking Paper Dollar." by Elmo Scott Watson, in this issue of The Beaver County News. |
