Show Much Drilling to Be Done in South-Eastern South-Eastern Pari State Drilling oa the Moab anticline al one of the points selected by Chas T. Lupton, prominent Denver geologist, geo-logist, will be started by the Utah Oil Development company within the next three weeks. On the basis of Mr. Lupton's report, re-port, it is estimated production should be obtained in the Pennsyl-vanian Pennsyl-vanian sands at a depth of less than 2000 feet. The equipment for this well is a standard rig. Anothe rstandard rig which reach ed Thompson's during the past week was consigned to the Lewis Petroleum Petrol-eum company of California, of which Levi Kendrick is field manager Four carloads were included in the equipment and the materials will be moved to Salt valley within the next couple of weeks. A deep test wel' will be put down on the Salt valley structure on acreage controlled by Mr. Kendirck. This well will be p Pennsylvanian test and production should be encountered, is is believed at less than 3000 feet. According to John A. Tannehill. field manager of the Embar Oil company, com-pany, the resumption of drilling on the Big Six well on the south side of the Moab anticline and just west of the Colorado river should start within the next two weeks. Mr. Tannehill Tan-nehill is assembling equipment for the drilling operations. The No. 2S Star machine now standing over the Big Six well will be used to complete com-plete the test. The well is now at z depth of 2S60 feet and the Embar company has taken a contract from the Big Six company to complete the well. The Embar company also has r permit in the vicinity of the Courthouse Court-house wash bridge, a quarter of ? miles west of the Colorado river bridge and, according to Mr. Tannehill, Tanne-hill, drilling will be started on this permit immediately. A hole will bt , spudded in near the bridge this month. The small portable rig which has been in use at the U. S. com pany's vanadium mill in Dry valley for drilling water wells will be used for spudding in the Embar test, and later a larger machine will be used to complete the well. From now on it is expected that new wells will be started on the structures in the Moab field at the rate of about three or four a month Reports from Salt Lake City, Denver Den-ver and other oil centers are to the effect that numerous rigs are being shipped to Thomas, and by the first of June it is probable that at least fifty drills will be at work in thit section.
