Show ORE FOUND IN" MOSCOW M1XK Ore has been opened up on the 1100 level in the Back vein of the Moscow Silver Mines company's property, pro-perty, situated near Milford, Utah, according to Manager Garratt Wilkin. Wil-kin. This strike is of great geological geologi-cal importance to the district, since it proves the persistence to depth ot the upper levels of the mine and the possibilities of a virgin limestone formation lying on the other side of a. strong fault. Moreover, the discovery should prove of great economic importance to the Moscow Silver Mining company, com-pany, since officials believe it will put the property on a paying basis. In March of 1923 the company resumed re-sumed work to prove if the Back and the Silver veins, so productive in the upper levels could not be founu in the exceedingly promising territory terri-tory lying on the other side of a fault zone which cut off the rich deposits. As a result of this exploration, twe feet of carbonate ore, which will assay, as-say, according to Mr. Wilkon, 40 per cent lead and 25 ounces of silver to the ton, has been opened up on the II Oil-foot level ami followed, at last reports from the mine, for a distance of twelve feet. The ore is making strong both up and down and on the strike of the bed. Finding of the vein on the othei side of the fault should simplify thi search for the Silver vein, which on the upper levels lay but a short distance dis-tance to the east of the Back vein. The search for the same veins should also be speeded on the 1-100 considerably by the discovery on the 1100. On the 1400 level a good lead of sulphide ore is being followei', which is improving both in grade and quality as work progresses. One car of sulphide ore from the showing on the 1400 level, assaying about 20 per cent lead and 15 ounces of silver to the ton, was shipped last week and loading of another carload from the 1100 started--Salt Lake Tribune. |
