Show HIGH SCHOOL XE1VS NOTES We regret that Milford has lot. the prestige of being on top in this divi-':ion; divi-':ion; but that does not signify that ' ihe is lost, nor that she is going to ' give up the struggle. Only the tie with Minersville pre-J pre-J vents us from having the lead and while there is breath left, we will fight. Minersville can't and won't go c the meet. Milford has only four more' league games two with Fillmore Fill-more and two with Minersville'. The first of these games will be played in the' high schocl gym, February Feb-ruary 12th. The opposing team is Fill more, but the score1 is going to be Milford's. We knew the Tigers would not disappoint dis-appoint us when they left last Friday, Fri-day, and they didn't. The first game they played was with Delta, Frjday night. They were sure of winning and acted accordingly. It was therefore not without surprise, astonishment and trepidition that they viewed the results of the first half Delta 11, and Milford 11. It must be supposed ihat the sight must hare stunned them momentarily for they did not recover from the shock and the third quarter showed Delta ahead by 4 points. Score 19 to 15. That was the finishing touch. It was also the awakening slap. With great ferocity the Tigers growled and waded in. The result was another example ex-ample of what "state of mind" has to tlo with acocmplishment. For with the return of determination Milford made G more baskets: and the game closed with a score Milford 21; Delta 19. ' Unhappily the game next night with Hinckley was not so fortunate, v.-a ther due to tiredness; or to a "too good" feeling we can't say. Anyway the game tied us with Minersville. Milford began the game with a bas-get, bas-get, and was ahead in the first quarter. quar-ter. Hinckley recovered, however, and in the first half was 1 point ahead. Score 14 to 13. The Tiger's perseverance tied the score in the third quarter. Milford 19, Hinckley 19. But in the last quarter Hinckley scored by 2 more baskets than Milford Mil-ford and the final outcome was Hinckley 26, Milford 22. We aren't a bit superstitious, but we are just wondering if one victory a week will have any influence or connection with another game. Because Be-cause the Ninth grade has already won a brilliant game from the Beaver Bea-ver Ninth grade) And it was some game. The Beaver team did not arrive ar-rive until after 4 o'clock, but even after the hurried dressing and scram bit) they were winning in the first half. The score was, S to 7. The third quarter was 15 to 12 in Milford's favor, fa-vor, and the score continued to mount steadily in our direction 'till the close of the game. TKe final score was 29 to 12 in favor of the Milford Freslv leg. A program will be held in the auditorium au-ditorium on Friday, February 12 at ill a. m.
