Show Break in Attempt to Crush Russia j Moscow England is pushing toward i war by breaking off diplomatic relations rela-tions with Russia, M. M. Litvinoff, assistant as-sistant commissar for foreign affairs, charged in a statement. "The break in in Anglo-soviet relations is not the result re-sult of the Arcos raid." Litvinoff said, i "The raid was the result of the intention inten-tion to break 'off relations. "This can only mean that England is pushing to- ' ward war, for it is absurd to believe j that England hoped to benefit by the break. The step was not taken solely to deprive English industry of millions mil-lions of pounds sterling or to increase unemployment or free the soviet of all j her obligations toward Englnad." Litvinoff Lit-vinoff said the break was the result of a British campaign "to crush the soviet sov-iet a tany cost." The campaign started, start-ed, he said, with the Zinoviev letter. j |
