Show j ii iiimi mil l iMllllllllw MMWi Beaver City Briefs 1 (From The Press) Mr. and Mrs. Warren Neilsen, Mr. iid Mrs. Grant Tolton and Mr. and ; Mrs. Koneth Barton made up a happy party that took a trip to Bryce canyon can-yon last Sunday. They went via Beaver valley, through Panguitch, up Red canyon to Bryce and returned via Long valley, Cedar Breaks and Cedar canyon. A wonderful scenic trip of 250 miles. A good number of the faithful at--. nded the Republican Primary last Friday night at the Court house. Precinct Pre-cinct chairman, Boyle presided". The following delegates and alternates alter-nates were chosen to attend the state convention in Salt Lake City: Delegates, Dele-gates, Geo. C. Murdock, jr., Wilford Kobin.-on, W. F. Knox and E. N. Thompson. Alternates: F- D. Farns-worth Farns-worth and Fred Gunn. One of the Interesting weddings of the season took place Saturday, Sept. 4th, at 5 o'clock when Miss Drucilla Boyter, daughter of Mr. and .Mrs. H. K. Boyter, became the bride of Marshall B. Messenger. The ceremony cere-mony was performed by Bishop C. Dennis White. The bride wore a gown of white georgette, trimmed with lace and ribbon. She was attended at-tended by Mrs. Nettle Messenger Hodges as matron of honor. Philo Boyter was best man. A wedding supper was served at 6 o'clock to 50 guests. The table was very prettily pret-tily decorated with asters and the place cards were nut baskets trimmed trim-med with pink ribbons. Mr. and Mrs. Messenger left Tuesday Tues-day for a trip to Fish lake after which they will be at home in Logan. Ralph Goodwin, 12 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. George Goodwin, suffered a broken arm Friday evening even-ing when he fell, while playing with several other children. The right arm was broken in the elbow joint. At last report he was doing as well as could be expected. The past noble grands of Belknap Rebekah Lodge No. 17, entertained their families with a diner at the Odd Fellow's hall Sunday evening at 7 o'clock. The evening was spent with social time, cards and music. Mrs. Joseph Murdock, Jr., was a pleasant caller in Beaver last Friday Fri-day afternoon. Miss Edyth Smith leaves this week for Driggs, Idaho, where she will teach the coming school term. Friends of the Walter James family fami-ly of Black Rock were pleased to meet them and Mrs. Wilkins of the Moscow mine, accompanied by Mrs. Bellingmo of Milford, calling In town last Friday. Miss Lucile Franke returned to Salt Lake Sunday, after spending the summer with her people at Rocky Ford. About a dozen friends were at the Milford station to see her off. Miss Lulu Tolton left Sunday to take up her school duties in Salt Lake. Institute began Tuesday for all high, junior high and grade school instructors. ; Now that the summer visitors and. fflachers are fast leaving our midst e look back with much pleasure upon the nice trips to canyons and parks, local picnics and reunions the Chautauqua and enjoyable social affairs given by charming hostesses in town and country, and look forward for-ward with anticipation to renewals next summer. Mr and Mrs. Dave McKnight of Minersville spent Wednesday evening even-ing last with the Robinson family at the dam. Among social visitors in Beaver the past week were Mrs. Walter Weber, Mrs. William Cates, Mrs. Frank Gospil and daughter of South Milford. Mrs N. P- Ipson was in Beaver Thursday the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Frank D. Low. Friday they all motored mo-tored to Milford and had dinner with Mrs E. R- Smyth and family. Mrs. Ipson stayed and met Mr. Ipson who 'arrived from Long Beach, Calif., Sunday. They both stopped in ! Beaver Monday on their way home to'Salt Lake City. ' Betty Murdock of Milford spent the past week here. Adilade and Idona Hall. who have been spending the summer here , UT-w onH with their grand parents, Mr. ana Mrs. John M. Erb of California for San Francisco, where they will visit their json and wife, Mr. and Mrs. John I Murdock. Hattle Whornham, county libra-' libra-' rian, left Monday for Minersville, where she will help get the library in order for the school year. The school board has been kind enough to give the library a room in the old building and have had It equipped for that purpose, so It will be more onvenient for the Minersville high school students, and town people in ! every respect. |
