Many of the Beaver county peo pie will be interested in learning of the high honors won by Miss Lois Carman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carman, who was principal of the grade schools of the county for several sev-eral years, a"nd is now living at Gold-field, Gold-field, Nevada, and was a graduate of the 1927 class of the Goldfield high school which took place May 26. She also took part in the finals of the staie typing and short-hand contests held at Reno, Nevada, on May 2S, Miss Carman was the wanner of the first year typing class being awarded a trip to New York to enter a national na-tional contest. In a letter to Mrs. Cottrell, their old friend and neighbor, Miss Lois says that she won $65 in prizes ths year and four typing ! awards and last year, won $95 and I was leaving now for Portland, Ore., ! where she would take work in a busi- ness college in training for the national na-tional contest, I |
