Show Lear Miss Brooks: I have been very Interested in your corner and would like to ask you a puzr-llng question. (1) I have been afraid to take part In anything or even read in cl.iss. many a time would try not to bo 1'rightened but somehow I just can't help it. I have a very good teacher who tries to encourage me but when I try to read I have to sit down berauso I am so frightened. Could you plea tell me what to do and how to overcome this habit. But the only remedy so far as I have been able to learn is to Just keep trying. It is self-oonsciousnees and unless you master it now It will be a source of annoyance and an aotual handicap to you all your life. Just determine de-termine to be master of yourself in this respect at least, and take advantage advan-tage of every opportunity to make some effort toward speaking, conversing convers-ing or taking some part, however em ML in every public or private affair which) you can. I am sure If you persist and just go through it once you will have 'ought your greatest battle. Have yon tried rehearsing before your family and friends? If not, try it. It may help yQ greatly.
