Show BAD, BAD MEN Two young men giving their names as Lancaster and Tyler, arrived' in Beaver a short time ago in a beautiful beauti-ful big Hudson car, and put up at the best hotel. Soon they cut a wide swath among the young ladies. Yes and some not so young. They took some ot their new friends to Milford to a dance. There some of the girls immediately im-mediately gave their "steadies" a cold shoulder and joined the train of admirers. One of the young men even went so far as to obtain a marriage license and go through a marriage ceremony with one of Beaver-Milford young widows. Bank checks were freely issued by the young fellows and as freely accepted; ac-cepted; a good sized board bill was run up; and other bills contracted', and all went well as a marriage feast should. Then came the fall and Oh! what a fall there was. Some of the people of Beaver county are still falling. The checks were no good and the bills are unpaid, and the young rascals ras-cals were locked up by Deputy Sheriff Sher-iff O. E. Puffer and Beaver City Marshal Abe Folhcringham searched the car. Telegrams were sent out, and a record of crime was unearthed which, if true, is a long and crooked one running all the way from Washing Wash-ing to Beaver and Iron counties and including such crimes as white slavery, slav-ery, adultery, forgery, grand larceny, beating board bills, violation of the Federal narcotic act, bigamy, desertion deser-tion of family, in fact they are accused ac-cused of nearly every crime on the calendar except rape. Tuesday federal officers arrived and took the men to Salt Lake where they will have their trials. |
