Show DISABLED VETERANS' CONVENTION SOON Salt Lake June 2 An invitation to the men and women of the State of Vtah, to be guests o the Disabled American Veterans' National convention conven-tion committee, at the opening session ses-sion and program of the Disabled American Veterans' concave here, on Vonday morning, June 23 in the worled famous tabernacle, was issued is-sued through the press of the state today, by Mayor C. Clarence Neslen, general chairman, and Gaylen S. Young, chairman of the general convention con-vention committee. The opening day's meeting is to open at 9 a. m., on the morning o June 23, with a program of musical selections by the crack 38th Infantry Regimental band, from Fort Douglas Promptly at 9:30 o'clock, National Commander James A. McFarland, of Dalton, Georgia, will call the big convention con-vention body to order. Following the invocation by National Chaplain, P.ev. I,. Schwartz, of St. Louis, Mo., one minute of silence will be observed, observ-ed, serving as a signal for the plac ing of memorial wreathes on the grave of the "Unknown Soldier," at Arlington, London, Paris, Rome and Brussels. Madame Schumann-Heink, the world-famed woman singer, will sing "Taps." The beloved prima donna will give a repertoire of classical and patriotic selections, opening with the "Star Spangled Banner," accompanied by the tabernacle organ and the 38th Infantry band. Madame Schumann-Heink Schumann-Heink is coming to the Disabled American Am-erican Veterans' National convention at her own expense, to sing for the wounded and disabled veterans. She assisted similarly at the organization national convention in Minneapolis a year ago. Governor Charles R. Mabey, Mayor May-or C. Clarence Neslen and Convention Committee Chairman Gaylen S. Young will give addresses of welcome, wel-come, which will be responded to briefly by National Commander J. A. McFarland, and Past National Commander Judge Robert S. Marx, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and C. Hamilton Cook, of Buffalo, New York. Greetings by Utah's United States senators and congressmen will be'fol lowed by the personal messages from leaders of the Grand Army of the Republic. Re-public. Unite?! Confederate Veterans. Spanish War veterans, veterans ot the forKign wars and the American legion. All musical programs, addresses and remarks, are to be broadcasted to all parts of the United States over radio broadcasting station "KDYL." which will be in charge of H. C. Mai-lander, Mai-lander, a Salt Lake disabled veteran of the World war. Special sections are to be reserved Tor the national officers and distinguished distin-guished guests, convention delegates and alternates. Gold Star mothers and Fathers. Congressional Medal of Honor men. and leaders of other veterans vet-erans and patriotic societies. No tickets tick-ets will be required for admission to the tabernacle, the committee urging that spectators come early to assure 'getting good seats for the epochal meeting, which will be adjourned following fol-lowing the appointment of standing committees for the convention period, per-iod, shortly before noon. Participation by out-of-town bands ' drum and bu.eal corps, drill team? ; and marching units in the convention ! parade of Juno 24 is being urged by I Col.
