Show LETTER TO THE CIVIC CLUB FROM THE SL MAYOR September 2, 1921 Executive Board Civic Center Organization, Organ-ization, Milford. Utah Dear Madam I am acknowledging your recent letter of inquiry and in reply will say that Salt Lake City, for some years past, has made a substantial donation dona-tion to our Civic Center. During the war, our substantial donation was more liberal than it was this year. In our efforts to reduce our tax levy, we had to curtail expenses and decrease our appropriations to the Civis center cen-ter $3000. The institution is a very worthy one and personally I regret that we cannot do more for it. I am sure the organization has done a great amount of good in this community among those who need the service most. Some of the best women in our city are engaged in the work. If I can be of service to you in any way, be free to call on me. Wishing you success in your work and enclosing kindest personal regards, re-gards, I remain Very truly yours C. CLARENCE NESLEN. Mayor, Salt Lake City. |
