Show MARGARET GARY, PIANIST Presiding at the piano at the Kon-ecny Kon-ecny recital Wednesday, January 24, will be Margaret Gary. She is a young American pianist, having received re-ceived all of her musical and academic aca-demic training in this country. She is a pupil of Albert Ross Parsons, a former for-mer pupil of Listz and Tausig, and studied with him in New York, and is a graduate of Downer college, Milwaukee, Mil-waukee, Wist., with a B. A. degree'. Being endowed! with a splendid tec-' tec-' hnique, a big tone, mature interpre-' interpre-' tative understanding, and poetic instinct, in-stinct, she naturally is a brilliant artist. ar-tist. Her repertoire is both broad and extensive, including representative - compositions from the earlier mas- ters down to Listz, Chopin, Brahms, Smetana, etc. Miss Gary belongs to the younger school of concert pianists. Buoyancy and the freshness of youth permeate her art ,and her playing is marked by that spirit andl finish which invariably invar-iably carry her to instant success. These musical attributes are further enriched by a charming stage presence pres-ence and pleasant and unassuming personality. Besides being a splendid soloiBt, she is also a thoroughly competent and sympathetic accompanist. In this capacity her work supplies that firm support and harmonic background so necessary to the soloist for the creation crea-tion of a perfect tone-picture. Tt is only natural therefore, that these sterling qualities should win for her immediate favor, and each further appearance simply increases her popularity with her audiences. |
