Show BEAVER DECIDES ON BOND ISSUE FOR LIGHT PLANT Confronted with the necessity of enlacing its city powr plant that present requirements for electricity be met, discontinue its service to outlying out-lying districts or secure power from the Telluride Powr company,. Beaver city held a mass meeting Thursday night, to which all taxpayers were invited. in-vited. The question of giving a franchise to the Telluride Power company or bond the city for approximately $30,-000 $30,-000 for new pipe line, machinery and building at the present side was presented pre-sented at the meeting. Following discussion and explanations, a vote to issue bonds to meet the requirements require-ments of building its own plant carried car-ried unanimously. The need for increase of light and power supply in the community has grown rapidly the last few years and now the plant is inadequate to meet the demand made upon it. Electrical engineers say that with the $30,000 expenditure it will be possible pos-sible to generate 180 k. w., while at present barely 90 k. w. is generated. Engineer Richards of the Caldwell & Richards Engineering company of Salt Lake City gave a detailed explanation ex-planation of the situation at the mass meeting. |
