It he-j he-j wails the fact that much good business busi-ness was taken away from Salt Lake I by this action of the railroad com-Ipany com-Ipany and gives out the opinion that j something ought to be done to bring pressura to bear on the company to prevent any such a future catastrophe catastro-phe at a holiday period. To the business man who resides in the country towns of Utah outside out-side of Salt Lake City, this is jusf f so much bunk and a case of sour grapes. It is perfectly all right for the Union Pacific to run week-end ex curslons into Salt Lake City at (he cent a mile rate, to the great detriment detri-ment of the small town merchant, ft 's perfectly proper to have several big gatherings In the state capital city each year when thousands of the j country people attend, when all old : merchandise Is trottod out and sold I at high prices; when the hotel rates i are boosted; and restaurant prices I hit the high spots and every-small 1 town merchant feels trie effect for weeks after. i i Let Salt Lake take its medicine. !
