Show THE QUARTERLY CONFERENCE The first session of the 183rd Quarterly Quar-terly conference convened in the high school at 10 a. ni., with President J. F. McGregor presiding. Opening song "We Thank Thee, 0 God. for a Prophet. Prayer Elder Thomas L. Griffiths President Samuel O. White was the first speaker, "Spiritual Soul of Man and Development of the Boys and Girls at Home," was his subject, and urged staying of youth at home. Elder Walter Tolton was the next speaker. He told of the trials of the church, pointing out their valiancy, and faithfulness. Today is the day that we should be valient, loyal and faithful. Elder John Wilford Robinson, just recently returned from the British mission, was called to give an account ac-count of his labors. He followed along the lines advanced by the former for-mer speakers, and felt the valleys and the mountains were the places for worshiping of God. Song congregation. Apostle Stephen L. Richard's now addressed the saints. He felt that this stake should have a suitable tabernacle tab-ernacle to accommodate our conference confer-ence one that could be dedicated for worshiping purposes. He also expressed ex-pressed pleasure at hearing the report re-port of Elder Robinson and. the work in the British mission, and read a part of seventy-sixth section of the of the doctrine and covenants, commenting com-menting on tame, pointing out the great principles contained therein the value of Prietshood to man. Singing "High on the Mountain Top," Prayer Moses Edwards. The second session of the foregoing conference was held at 2 p. m, with President McGregor presiding. Singing "O, Zion." Prayer William A. Morgan. Singing "Master, the Tempest is Raging." President Jacob Tanner was the first speaker of the session. His subject sub-ject was, "Gospel of Jesus Christ Embraces all that is Good." He said. All that is needed for man, for his living and advancement, stating that the church has the right to make its own rules and regulations just the same as any other organization, including in-cluding lodges. Elder John M. Murdock recognized the blessing that comes to the members mem-bers of the church of Jesus Christ, and stated that the missionary work was a great blessing for those seeking seek-ing the Truth. Choir sang Anthem. Apostle Richards' theme, the 'Gospel 'Gos-pel is a work of Fire, Urging the Saints to he Charitable and Judge Not.' Singing Choir and congregation. Prayer Albert Muir. Apostle Richards was the first speaker, deriving hi9 theme from a saying in the New Testament relative to the resurrection of Chirst, and his atonement at the instance of Mary Magadelene at the sepulcher and finding him gone Reconcilement of science with. Scriptures can he had through prayer. "Jesus is the Christ." R. Chase Murdock spoke, bearing his testimony to the truthfulness of the Gospel and reporting the Y. M. M. I. A. work. Song "True to the Faith." William A. Morgan, of High Priest council was next to speak and said, that he felt that we should put into practice the instructions that we receive re-ceive from meetings of our conference, confer-ence, and bore his testimony to the truthfulness of the Gospel. J. Frank Day, county superintendent superintend-ent of schools, was called. Subject, "The Lord Had a Purpose When he Tnfitntpd th.? Meetings of the Saints Association Gives Strength." Clyde D. Messenger of H. C. was the next speaker of the session. He said, Gospel gives to us freely and freely we should give to others. H. C. Thos. L. Griffiths next spoke. "The Gospel is True and Nothing to be Ashamed of," was the subject. The 3rd session of the foregoing conference was held at usual place at 10 a. m. Sunday morning, with President McGregor presiding. "Come, Come Ye Saints," was sung by choir and congregation. Prayer Elder Hyram A. White. Song Congregation. Sacrament was administered by Elders S. D. Hutchings and Lawrence Brooks, under direction of East and West ward bishopric, before which the choir sang, "Jesus, One of Humble Hum-ble Birth." Sacrament was passed by priesthood: priest-hood: of both wards and Greenville ward. J. Albert Muir spoke last subject "Christ, the Teacher and Example," Song congregation. Prayer Ernest A. Shipp. At 2 p. m. the 4th and last session of the 184th Quarterly conference was held with President McGregor presiding. Singing Congregation, "Memor ies of Galilee." Prayer Elder Franklin D. Farns-worth. Farns-worth. Anthem choir. General and local authentics of the church were presented by President Tanner and sustained unanimously. President McGregor was the first speaker "Mormonism is the Greatest Great-est Thing Going." He urged more activity ac-tivity throughout the stake, especially especial-ly with Priesthood quorums. Choir sang anthem "O, Lord, Most Merciful,". Apostle Richards now addressed the conference. He expressed his pleasure with the talks of all during the conference, particularly the presidency pres-idency and high councilors.
