Show i ' The reaction in Congress is rather amusing. It is now ordered that this state of affairs be investigated. Investigate In-vestigate what? British control of world rubber? That is a fact to which no investigation will be able 'to r.dd a single point; ;,K the facts about it ;;ve known. The high prices that are charged? To that also no investigation in-vestigation could add a single point. It would be just as wis? for the ; Brirsh House of Commons to icves- tigate the aluminum trust of the U. S. What would such an investigation investiga-tion yield? It is known that there is i an aluminum trust; it is known that it keeps up world prices. The British would not be so silly as to investigate investi-gate what everybody knows. We are getting a taste of our own American trust medicine, and we do not like it. The way out is to get our own rubber. rub-ber. But there is nothing in the matter that calls for a Congressional investigation. |
