Show t'ROFF TUXXEL TO BE STARTED Pinna have been completed for the development at depth of the, Croft mine, situated about fourteen miles oast of Milford in the Lincoln district. Owen Brinton, well known Butte Mont., and Uta-a naming maDi is to have charge of operations a tunnel will be driven north from the south end of the property to cut a fissure at a depth of 250 feet be-low be-low the surface vertically that on the surface has nine well defined ore shoots, four of which considerable shipping ore has been taken by leasers. A strong north-south fissure can be traced on the surface for a distance dis-tance of 4000 feet. When the vein is intersected, which will be at a distance of approximately 430 feet from the portal, a drift will driven to expose the fissure, where cut by numerous nionzonite dikes. The ore, a lead zinc carbonate on and near the surface and a lead-zinc .sulphide at depth, is associated with these intersections of the vein with the monzonite dikes. One of the shoots, followed down on the incline for a distance of more than 20t feet, has been persistently mineralized mineral-ized the whole distance. An average assay of twenty-on , samples taken by Mr. Brinton during dur-ing a recent examination showed values val-ues of $2 a ton in gold, five ounces of silver, 17 per cent lead and 15 per cent zinc Gold values will range in all samples from $1 to $4 a ton. The property is ideaiHy situate! according to Mr. B"rinton, at an altitude al-titude of 6400 feet. Operations can be carried on without any difficulty the whole year. Power facilities are excellent. At a small cost, the company com-pany can lead electric power to its its plant, which includes a compressor compres-sor and a good equipment. Considerable Consider-able ore Is still exposed in superficial superfici-al workings, which have produced approximately $100,000. The (location (loca-tion of the mine is also favorable, since it is situated with the old Lincoln Lin-coln mine adjoining on the north and in the vicinity of the Cave miau and other properties that have had a considerable production in the past. |
