Show AMENDMENTS TO FISH, GAME LAWS At f, meeting held in the library building at Beaver Saturday evening, the Beaver County Fish and Game club went on record as recommending recommend-ing the following additions and changes to the present game laws of the state. These recommendations were taken tak-en up to Salt Lake Monday by Geo. Cockett, president of. the Beaver County club, and will be submitted to the meeting of the Utah sportsmen's sports-men's league, which met Tuesday in the State capitol. Mr. A. I. Hestmark, President Utah Sportsmens' League, Ogden, Utah. Gentlemen: We hereby recommend the following follow-ing proposed changes in the Fish and Game laws of Utaht Section 1. The appointment of the Fish and Game commissioner, the chief deputy, deputy warden, hatchery hatch-ery superintendent, under the civil service examination. Section 3. Proposed to ormt advisory advi-sory board with the understanding that the fish and game commissioner will ad"vise with the various sportsmen sports-men organizations throughout the state. Sect on 5. The state commissioner commission-er shall receive as compensation the sum of $3,000 per annum, the salaries sal-aries of other employees of the department de-partment to be fixed by the commissioner, commis-sioner, subject Jo the approval of the board of examiners. (We believe that the general tendency of the people peo-ple is to reduce expenses of all the branches of the state government and believe that the above amount is adequate remuneration for the commissioner.) com-missioner.) Wo favor a $10.00 license for nonresidents hunting big game, and ecommend that no one under 16 years of age be allowed to hunt deer. Sections 10 and 12. Placing sleners under $R00 bond prohibiting seining In Weber River above the Power House in Weber canyon, shortening the seining season from October 1st to May 1st, opening the waters of lower low-er Sevier River and reservoir to seining, sein-ing, and opening the waters of Logan Lo-gan and Bear Rivers, Mineravllle Reservoir and the waters of Beaver River below said reservoir for fishing fish-ing for carp, suckers and catfish at all seasons of the year. Section 25. Opening the Deer season sea-son from October 21 to October 31st Section 31. Extending the Duck season to January 15th and permitting permit-ting the use of sink boxes under certain cer-tain restrictions in Cache, Boxelder, Weber and Heaver counties. Section 39. To permit the sale of cat-fish bolh within and out of the r.iate. (We are opposed to the change in regard to discharging firearms fire-arms on the public highway In Bea-er Bea-er county.) We recommend the adoption of the following: Providing for a report of all deer killed during the open season and that Section 19 be amended so It will be lawful to fish by a fire-light or artificial light at night. 2. A penalty against the transfer !of fishing and hunting license. 3. A pciirilly for carrying spears, pitchforks or other unlawful devices on any of (he public waters of the state. 4. A penally against the use of a "ilencer of any kind of fire-arms. Section 25. We recommend the adoption of the amendment in regard to buck deer with horns, that nothing noth-ing lcs than male deer one year old, be killed.
