Snow, two prominent Utah cattlemen, were here on July 4th. Mr. and Mrs. Fournier came down from the plant to enjoy the Glorious Fourth of July. Ralph Meyers and Oren Burke were over from Minersville the past week. Dr. F. J. Alexander, our optical friend and a booster,- was here on Thursday last. Mr. and Mrs. Marksheffel are planning a trip to Los Angeles in the very near future. . . 4 Work on the sewer extension is well under way. About a quarter of the ditch is dug. , .. Mr. J. E. Manns is visiting with Dispatcher David. They were "pn' in Russia for two years, during the war. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh H. Lewis of Fort Worth, Texas, stopped off in Milford on July 4th, on their way to Salt Lake City. D. S. Dorrity, deputy U. S. marshal was looking into some matters nround Milford on Saturday and Sunday Sun-day last. ' F. C. Crookston was here on Saturday Sat-urday and went on a fishing trip by way or( Milford. "Maybe" some Mil-ofrd Mil-ofrd people went too. . J. A. Pa;.sey, John Smith, E. L. Josson, Leon F. Rae, H. W. Raddiff. were all here from Salt Lake City this week. Miss Grace Dobson of Los Angeles was visiting with her brother, Mr. Wm. Dobson, this past week. She left for Mexico Tuesday evening.. . . Water pressure, on the hill is a little weak these warm days. Better hurry up and get our new water system sys-tem completed. The Milford Civic association will hold a meeting at the Atkin hotel Friday, July 8th at 8 o'clock. The slogan that was adopted was "Help, Don't Knock." Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Hanson, Fletcher Flet-cher Peterson, Verdi Brienholt, Eas-ton Eas-ton Moffett and Bud Peterson, all of Richfield were here on Thursday In their famous orchestra. A beautiful baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Summerhays, on July 2nd- at the L. D. S. hospital. Mother and little daughter doing nicely. Mr. and Mrs. H. Ward entertained entertain-ed on July 4th in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Palmer, and son Horace, Mrs. Shirley S. Atkin and children, Shirlen, Howard and Martha Ann. 4 Mrs.-C. C. M.urdock and son Joseph Jos-eph left Tuesday evening for Black-foot, Black-foot, Idaho, where they will spend a couple of weeks with relatives and friends. s The ranch known as the Mecham ranch, near here has been sold by Mrs. Flora A. Beeler of San Francisco, Francis-co, to Mr. P. F. Kingston, for the sum of three thousand dollars. Mr. Kingston will move to the ranch very soon. The luncheon will be held as usual us-ual tomorrow. The Atkin hotel is the place. The price is sixty cents and there will be no invitation committee commit-tee around to remnd you that the hour is 12:10. Don't be late. Everyone Every-one invited. Mr. Walter Jamrs of Black Rock. ; brought a car of beautiful bells over I to the 4th of J.uly dance. Those en-j en-j joying the evening were Mrs. Bur-; Bur-; bank, of Seattle, Washington; Miss Bennetta James, Miss Helen James and Miss Bennet from Salt Lake City Mrs. Burbank is a sister of Mrs. I James and will spend a month or so I on the famous James ranch visiting, i with the rapid decline of prices', they are much better off than they were last summer. C. R. McGinty completed his visit with relatives and friends' here and left last Thursday for San Bernardino, Bernar-dino, California. Mrs. F. E. Knadler and children, who have also visited at the McGinty Mc-Ginty home, departed for New Mexico Mex-ico on Thursday.- J. W. Dinwiddle and Alvln Couch are spending the Fourth at their homes here. W. R. McGinty who Is taking a vacation, va-cation, spent a few days at the Lake last week. Mr. and Mrs. H. LIndeman entertained enter-tained a few friends in honor of their daughter June's birthday, June 29. July Fourth was observed very quietly. Many remained at home, ' while a few went to Minersville, and athers picni'ced in the mountains. ' The friends of Mrs. C. R. Keith tendered her a parcel shower Friday. A dainty luncheon was served at 1 o'clock and a pleasant afternoon was spent in conversation. A' pleasant dance and social evening ev-ening was enjoyed at the R. R. McGinty Mc-Ginty home, in honor of their guests Saturday of last waek. Harry Smith went t. Los Angeles last week to work at. carpenter work until September. Mr ami Mrs. J. W. Brown left last Friday for Salt Lake and Green River. We are sorry to lose this afm-ily afm-ily from Nada. A small but appreciative audience listened to an interesting sermon by Rev. Zook, at the Thermo school house a week ago yesterday. Mr. Corwin arrived here last week to act as section foreman at Nada. Mr. C. makes a very good impression impress-ion and is an experienced railroad man. We extend a heart3r welcome to Mr. Corwin and hope he will be pleas ed with his new home. G. R. Meyers, who is in the government gov-ernment service at Vallijo, California, Califor-nia, is spending a month at his home here, incidentally with his six month old son, George R. Jr. A pleasant birthday dinner was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. 0. H. Moore last Sunday, it being the joint birthday anniversaries of Mr. J. E. Moore, Miss Max Moore, and Mrs. D L. Barnes. |
