Show FRATERNAL CONGRESS An important gathering of international inter-national importance will be that of (he National Fraternal Congress of America whose annual convention takes place at French Lick Springs, Indiana, August 27-30. This congress is composed! of all the leading fraternal societies of the continent and represents a membership member-ship of nearly six million people who carry fraternal benefit protection. These societies have local bodies in every part of the United Stats and Canada. Prominent speakers on the program pro-gram for this convention are Hon. James J. Davis, secretary of labor; Hon. James E. Watson, United States Stat-es senator from Indiana; Hon Samuel Sam-uel M. Ralston, United States senator sena-tor from Indiana; Hon. Harry Arthur Arth-ur Hopf. New York; Management Engineer Barney Pearson of St. Louis and F. G. Walpas of Cedar Rapidfe, Iowa. The president of the National Congress, Mr. Harry Wade, of Indianapolis, In-dianapolis, Indiana, will present a report on the work of the fraternal benefit system this past year. This Congress was organized twenty-five years ago and has steadily pursued a course for sound legislation and sound principles of protection within with-in its own ranks. "Adequate rates" has been its slogan and1 ideal and due to the persistency' of the efforts of its founders nearly evry fraternal benefit society doing business in the country today has its business regulated regu-lated on an adequate basis. The assets of these fraternal societies soci-eties are invested in bonds, the money from which has erected school houses, built roads and streets, and other public improvements which mean so much to the health and the prosperity of our nation. At the meeting of the Congress addresses will be made and discussions discus-sions had upon all subjects pertaining pertain-ing to the welfare of the people of our country, the improvement of the conditions of the fraternal insurance societies and their regulation and superintendence by government officials, offi-cials, additional privileges and benefits bene-fits to the insured members, education educa-tion and instruction of field representatives repre-sentatives of these societies, and additional ad-ditional matters of Interest to the convention will be presented by men most prominent and' able in each respective res-pective line. While the Congress is a representative represen-tative body, yet all members of fraternal fra-ternal societies are welcome and admitted ad-mitted to all sessions of the Congress. Con-gress. Life Insurance as it now is operated oper-ated has proved to be one of the greatest benefits to humanity and to the progress and solidity of our country. Every man and woman who is interested In this great subject should. If possible, attend' the meeting meet-ing of the National Fraternal Congress. |
