Show INFLUENZA CONDITIONS RAPIDLY IMPROVING I From December 2S, up to and including in-cluding Thursday, January 2nd. there was but one home quarantined in Milford. Mil-ford. for iuiluenza. During that time a member of flags wire taken down hence greatly reducing the number of quarantines in effect. At present there are but nine cases of the dreaded dread-ed malady in town, as compared to about 3a a week ago and approximately approximate-ly 70 three wci.s ago. Thus the cit izens of Miiford can feel especially gratified wuli the situation as it now exists, as regards ; he number of new cases. It is unfortunate, howeve that many of the eases recently have been more severe types than for-imerly. for-imerly. The Hoard of Health is constantly con-stantly being' met, with the question as towhen the ban will be lifted. It was thought a few days ago that it possibly could be removed Jan. 6th, but-us conditions now exist, it evidc ly would be slightly premature to open the town on that date, because it is not thoroughly demonstrated that the disease is altogether under con- , trol. In other words, a few extra days of grace to see what is going to I develop, is considered advisable ce, even with very favorable condi- I tions. the regulations now in force I will not be lifted before V.'e ! the Sth. j Even arter public assemhla-i assemhla-i permitted, a "ery rigid quarantine or ' the homes -having the disease will be j enforced, thus giving the public con-i con-i siderable protection. Many authorities author-ities advice that with that precaution, it would be well in order to lif. ban. For the protection of everyone it is urged that every p6r?or. treat a tea a J severe cold as a potential possibility I of influenza, and take no chances. Let the authorities know of all cases readily. And lastly refrain from criticising crit-icising until you have a practicable and better plan to offer as a -.: tute. |
