Show MURDOCK ADVISES MILFORD HIGH Domestic Science Department Sells Good Things to Eat Lincoln Program Last Thursday Dr. Gardner, R. Maeser and G. de Jong returned from Salt Lake, where they had been to meet with the Church School Board of Education. Although the Board did not give a definite answer we were given every hope to believe that we will secure the appropriation asked ask-ed for. With this extra fund Murdock Mur-dock will be more able to support the slogan, "A greater Murdock." The Junto Club is offering a pennant pen-nant to the class winning in the inter-class debates. Of course the Seniors Sen-iors think that they have it, but watch out for those Freshies. Extra! Extra! The Sophs have really woke up. Last Saturday night they entertained a number of the students in an "Old Fashioned Party." Par-ty." I wonder where some of those hoop skirts and Prince Albert coats came from. We invite the Second Years to invite us again soon. J. J. Booth has arrived, and will rush his work through in about a week. Then our Year Book will be on the "home stretch," and the staff will be able to take a much needed rest. Now days our nickles burn our fingers pretty fast for we soon let go of them. The reason is: The D. S. department has something good to sell every day. At this writing doughnuts are on sale and they're sure good ones. The Student Body is arranging a splendid program for devotional in commemoration of Lincoln's birth day next Monday. O. F. McShane will speak on "What Lincoln did for his country," and many musical selections se-lections will be given. You are all cordially invited to attend. Another move the Murdock Republic Re-public has made is the grading of the driveway to and around the school grounds. This day will be known as "Good Roads Day." Give your support to such a move by appearing ap-pearing on the scene Friday, February Febru-ary 16 th, with your team and wagon. The girls will attend to your wants at noon. The Fourth Years are destined to have a good time Saturday night. Irene Hutchings, Lohree Nowers, Dave Heslington and Paul Maeser have invited them to a candy pull. Final tryouts for the cast of the play "At the End of the Rainbow," will be held next Saturday afternoon. And now we come to that all absorbing ab-sorbing topic basket ball. The Milford team was defeated in the game Friday night by Murdock, with a score of 13 to 38. While we won we feel that we have nothing to be proud about, for our boys did not give an exhibition of all they are capable of. In the game with Hinckley Hinck-ley this Friday, the Murdock team is determined that the game will be worth watching and they are going into the battle to give all they have tion that when the number of rooters root-ers you sent to Beaver last week do not make more noise than they did, why keep them home. In our past experience we have always found that it pays to yell for your team even though they are losing. Be game losers every time. After this, Milford, don't be afraid of your lungs and when you visit us again let us know that you art) present.
