Show WAR MOTHERS MEETING The lobby or the Hotel Atkin, ar-1 ar-1 tistically decorated with Old Glory, and war relics, was the scene of one of the -most interesting meetings meet-ings of the Milford War Mothers ot the season. All soldiers who have returned from service were given an especial welcome. The meeting opened with the minutes min-utes of the previous meeting and roll call to which nine War Mothers responded re-sponded to roll call, besides a large number of wives, and sisters. Several Sev-eral guests of members were present. A short business session followed The resignation of Mrs. Carlton as historian, was accepted with much regret. The election of Mrs. Julia A. Smiuso'n, for the office was unanimous. un-animous. Mr. O. F. McShane of Beaver gave a most interesting address which gave worthy praise to the devoted War Mothers and the splendid work they have done and are doing. In part, Mr. McShane told of the worldwide world-wide appreciation and respect which is given , this organization for their unfailing spirit of bravery and devotion. de-votion. F. verse written for the "Stars and Stripes" by men in the service was given by Mrs. Herbert Gourley. The returned soldiers present were Earl Beard. Fred Rothman. and Albert Al-bert Johnson and George Paxton, both of Millard county. 1 At the close of the meeting. Mrs. George Atkin made a motion which was moved and seconded that three cheers be given Mr. McShane for his wonderful tributes to the War Mothers. Mo-thers. |
