Show LYCEUM'S BIG ADVANCE SALE The sale of tickets for the Lyceum Course to be given at the high school, the first number of which occurs oc-curs tonight, has been unusually great. Over three hundred dollars' worth of tickets have been sold, thus practically insuring the financial success suc-cess of the course. A dance will follow the Lyceum number Friday night. The price of admission is to be cut in half since the dancing will last only from 10:30 to 12 o'clock. The boys defeated the faculty in the basket ball game at the Gym. on Wednesday afternoon with a score of 39 to 21. The boys are rather proud of this victory as it is the first time they have accomplished such a feat. Miss Street is making a heroic effort ef-fort to appear dignified in her English Eng-lish class and has even tried wearing spectacles, but to no avail. She remains re-mains undignified. The boys' basket ball suits have arrived and they will probably be on exhibition at the game between the town team and the high school team on the 23rd of November. A costume dance will follow the game on Friday, the 23rd. The high school will send a representative repre-sentative to the meeting of athletic coaches of the southern division, to be held at Cedar City Saturday. Schedules, guarantees, etc., will be arranged for the season. The high school hoys will meet for a general work-day on Saturday. They will improve the appearance of the grounds and endeavor to make the hill a little easier to climb. As a reward for their efforts the girls will serve a lunch to them at noon. Mr. Trent has the instruments installed in-stalled for his course in telegraphy and has the course Knder way. This course is being taken 1 mainly by townspeople, though there are a few high school students enrolled. Mr. Wells has written to the U. o U. for information regarding th State Debating League, with the ide of entering a B. C. H. S. team th: year. The combined faculty basket ba! team has challenged the rest of th county teachers to a game to be played at Beaver on Tuesday evening during the Institute. There will be a week's holiday for Thanksgiving, due to the Institute at Beaver during that week. Leo White has been put in charge of the bulletin board ' to advertise what is going on at the school. The teachers are trying" to" maintain main-tain a little order among the pupils and although it 'Seems a rather difi' cult task it is to be hoped they wi" ; succeed. |
