Show IT is a wonderful thing that this country should have far over a million mil-lion men in France, 70 per cent fight-in fight-in men, and in a short fifteen months after war is declared. Also, these men are all equipped and clothed and trained to the minuce and ready for any emergency. It would have been wonderful had they been gotten ready and moved the distance by trains and over the land, -but to have carried them across a submarine subma-rine infested ocean and without the loss of a man or a ship, is one of the marvels of the world. And America was less ready for war than any country in the world. He is a strange sort of a chap, that same Yankee. No wonder the world is admiring him and no wonder the world is ready to make his 4th of July, his day of celebration, cele-bration, its own day of celebration. Ex. |
