Show Plans to Fight High Cost of Foods. Deliver, Colo. Denver will have a municipal food, meat and find market, and perhaps a number of such markets to cut the cost of living to consumers, according to tentative plans announced Friday, after a meeting of Mayor Dewey C. Bailey and his cabinet. The city administration will begin an immediate im-mediate investigation to determine the feasibility of the plan. The first step would be the purchase of several carloads car-loads of the canned foods to he offered of-fered at cost by the war department, it was announced. Any enterprise in which Ihe city will engage along this line will be copied after Seattle's municipal mu-nicipal fish market plan. The market will be inaugurated within ninety days unless the federal government acts to bring down food prices, members of the cabinet said. |
