Show HELP THE SOLDIERS To all Utah Farmers: During the war period, many Jobs about th farm were put off "until the war is over" when w should be less crowded for time. Now is the time for us to take up this work. Our soldier boys are now returning and there are many who want jobs. They want to get into the game and do their part at home. There was . only one kind of report that came back from the front. Itwas a good report, for the boys have made , good in every way. Now let every one realize that there is a post war obligation. These boys gave up good jobs and they did not stop to argue about whatwould be done for them when they came hack. They took us ongood faith and now we must not break that faith with the hoys who kept up the faith for us while they were in the military service. There are many things that they can do. Is there tile to lay, or ditches ditc-hes to run? Many of these boys have had training in engineering work, "long, with other agricultural training. train-ing. They are more efficient today than when they left the farms. Have vou tractor or other machinery problems? prob-lems? Now is a good timo to have your tractor overhauled by one of thes trained men. Perhaps you have thought of going more deeply into the cultivated crops, such as corn, fpotatoes. sugar beets, tomatoes, beans, or other canning crops. Perhaps Per-haps you ha in mind putting up another an-other silo and adding another half dozen cows to the dairy herd, and with another all year man you could do a lot on these cash crops. On some farms there is enough wet land that is now little better than waste, that could he drained and add sufficient suf-ficient acreage to warrant you in hiring hir-ing a dependable all-year man. Pruning Prun-ing up the trees, hauling of manure, and winter wood; feeding the stock; painting the barn and other outbuildings out-buildings where needed, and many nttinr rA A Ink. 1 A XI other odd jobs could be done the next few months. Now is a good time to get acquainted with our hired help, then no time will be lost when early spring work begins. Job hunting is Indefinitely harder than job-man finding and at present a serions problem. Yes, the wages are important, There will not be a holdup anywhere any-where along the line hut the wages ought to be in keeping with the prices of farm crops, certainly not any higher and it would be but fair to give them the best possible as our first reward to the returned soldiers.
