Show . The town board is to ba commended for its determination to re adjust water-rental conditions. At the last regular meeting, held on the " " 27th of last month, the board vigorously discussed this matter and it was brought out that water rates are not as equably apportioned as thay might be; also that many are using free water and that iu numerous instances more water is being used than is paid for. It also developed that there was a considerable sum due the city, in unpaid water rentals. These conditions are wrong and the board is endeavor-io endeavor-io to right them. There is no logioal nor even plausible reason why one user should pay tuore or less than another for the same service. While the exact figures are not yet completed, it is estimated that by this unequal apportionment of water rentals and the loss from free and wasted water, tbe town stands to lose monthly an amount which would be a material help in paying the interest on the unpaid bnnded indebtedness in-debtedness ot the water plant. This condi ion of affairs hus grown so intolerable that tho board is determined to take vigorous means 'o eorrect it, and in this they should have the hearty support and cooperation co-operation of the water users, in order that all may get a square deal, both as to supply and as to the charges for same. |
