Show MONEY NEEDED FOR THE HIGH WAYS Members of the legislature from the outlying counties are wondering when the Democratic leaders are to present the omnibus roads bill, that was promised members from the outside out-side if they retrained from introducing introduc-ing individual road bills during the session. Yesterday in the hotel lob-' lob-' ' " bies and in the house chamber, where members of the house gathered, gather-ed, a discussion of roads was had, and D. D. Rust, of Kane county took the position that the Democratic leaders should cither begin the draft of the roads bill or give the members the right to introduce their own bills. Only one road bill has been introduced intro-duced in the house and that is for an appropriation for the Grand Canyon Can-yon highway. The country metnners of the low er house expect to begin the introduction intro-duction of the road bills this week unless the Democratic leaders get. together and arrange for the omnibus omni-bus measure. They hold that, the pledge of the Democratic state convention con-vention for good roads is as important import-ant as other promises made in the platform. Herald-Republican. |
