Show News ofthe Week Events Carefully Chronicled Mrs. L. D. Brooks has gone to Long Beach, California, fr a visit with relatives. rela-tives. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Bear of Milford, spent last Sunday at the home of J. B. McCutohan. Mrs. Boyter entertained the members mem-bers of the B. B. Club at her home last Friday. Mrs. S. L. Harrington was called to Salt Lake a few days ago, on account of the illness of her daughter, Ethel. Mr. and Mrs. Nelse Schow have gone to Brigham City to look over a contemplated land purchase in that vicinity. Peter Dunserof the Project, has sold his Btock, leased his ranch and departed for his old home in the Imperial Valley for an indefinite, if not permanent per-manent absence. Just too late for notice in last week'p edition, came the news, by wireless grapevine of the arrival of a baby girl in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Marksheffel. Congratulations. The Milford base ball club management manage-ment is dickering for games ,vith either Las Vegas or Nephi, for July 4th. These are strong teams and a good game would result with either nine. Lyal and Millard Webster, sons of D. Webster of the Project, who have heen attending Occidental College, Los An geles, arrived yesterday, to spend the summer at their home. Both young men are prominent in athletics in Southern California. Next Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m , the local base ball team will take issue with a team from Lund. A NEWS man who was in Lund recently, find that the team over there is making every preparation o give the home aggregation a run for their money. Mrs. Bert Nichols and Miss Nina Thiessen entertained the O. E. S. Club at the home of the former, on Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon. With ''500" as th chief amusement and a charming luncheon as a fitting climax, the afrer-nonn afrer-nonn was pleasantly spent. Prizp winners at "500""were Mrs. Blunt, Mrs. R. S Lemon and Mrs. Adkins. Wilbur Wood, employed in the local railroad shops, and a brother of Mr. Arthur Wood of this city, was married to Miss Alma Haney, at Carrolf.on, Nevada, on June 7th, Rev. Bush of that city, officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Wood j are expected to arrive in Milford today to-day and will at once take uo housekeeping house-keeping in a residence already prepared pre-pared for them. - The NEWS off rf congratulations. |
