Show HICOST DOESN'T STOPMILFORD J. W. McAllister's addition to his bungalow is now ready for the painters. paint-ers. It comprises a new parlor, kitchen, bathroom, screen room and cellar, and when completed Mr. and Mrs. McAllister will have an up-to-date home, one of which they will bo justly proud. Chester Barton is building a neiv garage at his home. The Hanks block opposite the Atkin At-kin Hotel is nearlng completion. This is a one-story building 60x90 feet, with walls heavy enough to carry another story whenever it is deemed that the town is in need of extra rooms by its owner. The brick work is all done and the plastering is finished, and the carpenters are busy putting in the front. The work on this building has been under the direction of Mr. Hanks personally, assisted by H. C. Lewison as superintendent. super-intendent. The building comprises two large store rooms with a small store room in the rear and also a boiler room. The Golden Rule Store has a lease on the building and will occupy it with a complete line of dry goods, groceries and men's clothing as soon as it is finished. The Jefferson block, 150x100 feet, under the supervision of J. C. Mclntyre, Mcln-tyre, is now ready for the roof timbers, tim-bers, the brick work having been completed last Wednesday, and now the carpenters are getting ready to put down the cement floor. This building contains five large store rooms beside a large warehouse and store rooms, and is equlpp"i with a large refrigerating plant, besides Its own water system, and -will have a complete up-to-date heating plant when completed. The grocery department and office of the Jefferson Mercantile company will be removed from their present quarters to the corner room, where they will be installed with new and up-to-date fixtures and furnishings. These new buildings with the lately late-ly completed telephone building, make quite an addition to our town and Milford is justly proud of her evidence of prosperity and progress. . 1 I |
