After many months of preliminary experiments in long distance telephony, tele-phony, a Marconi engineer seated in a wireless hut at Clifden, Ireland, at that hour lifted the receiver and called call-ed "Glace Bay." Instantly the answer came: "Glace Bay talking." From that moment on continuously, Clifden communicated with Nova Scotia, the voices carrying strong and clear all day. |
