Show MILFORD CHORISTERS COP FIRST PLACE AT ST. GEORGE MUSIC FESTIVE The Milford High School ChoraU Group, under direction of Principal Kenneth Farrer, was rated highest high-est of the 12 schools competing in the St. George Music Festival last Saturday, according to a letter received re-ceived this week from Prof. W. H. Manning, professor of music at the Utah State Agricultural College, Logan. Bands, orchestras and choral groups participated in the festival, with the Milford group of 120 chor- isters, colorfully attired in academic aca-demic gowns, the largest of the groups. The letter from Prof. Manning, in part, follows: Dear Mr. Farrer and That Wonderful Won-derful Group of Singers: I heard Prof. Garner announce the Milford group, but when I saw that great multitude of striking group of vested singers I began to doubt I. had heard right, for I had known of the small groups that had come 'from Milford in years gone by. I had my secretary go to Mr. Garner for verification and learned that it was Milford. What a picture you made! I was thrilled to see about 60 per cent of your student body there in beautiful, beau-tiful, rich-looking vestments, so well arranged and so sincere, so orderly and eager to do a great job, which you did so magnificently. magnifi-cently. I want to congratulate your singers and especially your splendid splen-did director. You brought a new dignity to choral singing Satur day, iou had spared no time to prepare, no means to present yourselves your-selves so beautifully. Very sincerely, W. H. MANNING.
