Hurtner, agriculturalist of tho L'nion Pacific railroad, had given out information that the railroad was going to establish a demonstration farm in Milford valley val-ley along the rigt-of-way. It was intended to have good buildings, a house, sheds and a barn, a good sii.ed family, orchard and well stocked with cattle, hogs and sheep. There was to be a big celebration celebra-tion by the people of Beaver county, coun-ty, July 23-21, at Puffers lake in honor of the successful completion and opening of the road leading up Beaver canyon to the lake. 1 It had been rumored around Milford Mil-ford that there would be no high school that coming year. Mr. Sloan, a member of the school board, had made a statement that thero was no foundation to the rumor and that Milford would have a regular term of high school with a full corps of teachers-There teachers-There had been born to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bonner jr., on July 6, a fine babv boy. The construction of a railroad from Lund to Iron Springs, near Cedar City, was to be started as quickly as possible. The road was to be 24 610 miles long and cost approximately $500,000. Mrs. Sam Hickman and children of Richfield had been visiting in Milford. I |
