Show I Bi Trees Survived Because No Ilili Winds Prevailed CarrneL, Calif. Survival of "Central "Cen-tral Sherman," largest of the West Coast Big Trees In Sequoia Notional Notion-al park and believed to be the oldest living thing, appears partially at least to be a result of long peace. No high wind has disturbed the I General and its brother Big Trees I during the last 3,000 or 4,000 years in the secluded valleys where they grow, Dr. D. T. MacDouRal of the i Carnegie Institution of Washington Indicates. For If these rnonnrchs f the forest had been exposed to Ruch a wind, they would not be standing today.
